Detergents & Automotive Care

Detergents and cleaning products (ranging from household use to specialized Car Detailing) are subject to a complex legal framework. Beyond the standard REACH & CLP requirements, they must fully comply with the specific Regulation (EC) No 648/2004 on detergents, which sets strict requirements for biodegradability and surfactant labeling.

The UFI Obligation (Unique Formula Identifier) Before placing any cleaning product on the EU market, duty holders are legally required to generate and display the UFI code on the product label. This 16-character alphanumeric code links your product to the European Poison Centres (PCN) via the ECHA submission portal. This process is mandatory and vital for emergency health response. Missing UFI codes are a frequent cause of market non-compliance penalties during inspections.
